Religious Society of Friends - Quakers of Orlando, Florida

Orlando Friends (Quakers): TheOrlando Meeting is located near downtown Orlando. All arewelcome. Off street parking is available behind the meeting house.There is wheelchair access at the (main) rear entrance. Our meetinghouse has a small lending library, and there are on-site accommodationsfor Friends traveling on Friends' business.

Tradition of Worship: TheOrlando Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends isunprogrammed in its form of worship. There is no sermon or ritual.Those attending sit in silent stillness - open to the leading ofthe Spirit. When moved to speak a person will make a statement ofministry. Others may also be led to speak. After about an hour themeeting is concluded with people shaking hands with others nearby.

Meeting for Worshipbegins every First Day (Sunday) at 9:30am. First day school, religious education for the young people, is at the sametime. Meeting for Worship with a Concern for Business is heldevery 2nd First Day / Sunday in the month at 11:00am.

Meeting for Learning occursevery First Day at 11am, except on the 2nd First Day. Using adiscussion format, a Quaker perspective on current events may bediscussed. Specific religious issues may be examined or a special bookis reviewed. Also, Meeting for Learning provides an opportunity forVisitors to learn about the Quaker Way.

Meeting for Singing is held prior to worship from 9am to 9:30am.
